Barron Spell for the Wild

Spell as in magic.  The RTL are proud to announce the signing of forward Will Baron.  The loyal 32-year-old is joining the Wild after playing his entire career at the Sheffield Spartans and their predecessors, the Sheffield Scimitars.

WillBarronAs people who have watched the Wild vs Spartans games over the past three seasons will know Will is someone who is usually on the ice when the Spartans have put the puck in the back of the net and who is widely regarded as a key player.

Wild Player Coach Ollie Barron, commented on the signing of his brother;

“I’m delighted to announce the signing of my older brother Will to the roster of Widnes Wild.”

“Will is a hard working player, with a eye for goal who is not afraid to put his body on the line for his team mates, Will has played for the Spartans for the last 11 seasons, rarely  missing a fixture and putting up good stats, I’m delighted he has agreed to join the Wild with me and the rest of the squad.”

When asked about signing for the Wild Will said,

“I’m looking forward to joining the Wild and taking on a new challenge.  It’s been a difficult few months with the demise of the Spartans but having the opportunity to join an ambitious team with a solid fan base is one I couldn’t pass up.”

“I’ve been very impressed with the set-up at Widnes and I’m confident we will be in a strong position to be fighting for promotion come the end of the season,” Will added.

Will be wearing the number 6 on his RTL Widnes Wild shirt and his home, away and warm-up shirts are available to own ‘n’ loan.
