Another Fantastic Signing

So since the announcement of Ollie Barron as player-coach of the RTL Widnes Wild both the #WildOnes, the Wild’s opponents and fans of the games have been scouring the Elite Prospects website looking to see which players Ollie would bring in, especially from amongst the Spartans players without a team.

NickManningAnd amongst all the speculation there has been one name that people the #WildOnes have wanted to see join the Wild and one name our opponents have been hoping would be announced elsewhere.  A name that is the all-time Spartans points scorer, leads the Spartans in all-time assists and is the second highest goal scorer in Spartans history.

And so it is with great pleasure that the RTL Widnes Wild can confirm that the third Spartan signed by Ollie Barron is that name.  And that name is Nick Manning.

At 28 years old, 6 foot Nick has played all of his hockey to date in Sheffield and has spent the last seasons playing for the Spartans.

Speaking about his latest signing Ollie said;

“Nick is one of the most skilful players I have played with, and he certainly knows where the net is, I’ve known Nick since playing u10s Hockey in Sheffield and followed him in every age group.”

“Nick was last season Spartans top point scorer scoring 35 points in 31 games, Nick is vital to my plans this season and I expect a big season from him this year.”

Nick will be wearing the number 19 shirt this season and his home, away and warm-up shirts are available to own ‘n’ loan.
