An Incredible Night At W5 For The Giants!

Nearly 800 people packed into the W5 complex on Thursday night to listen to the Belfast Giants announce a list of player signings and the signing of new head coach Paul Adey.  The buzz around the event began when the first fan walked through the door and continued until Paul Adey walked across the stage to be interviewed by BBC Sport NI’s Nigel Ringland.  Adey spoke about the type of team he wanted to build and the style of play he intends to bring to the Giants this season.

The Odyssey Trust ‘s Chairman Brian Burke officially welcomed the fans and spoke glowingly about the turnout on the night. His words were echoed by CEO Robert Fitzpatrick who branded all the season ticket holders in attendance as “Giant Ambassadors” and challenged them to go spread the word about the exciting things happening with the Giants and in the Arena this coming season.
New Head Coach Paul Adey was shocked at the attendance on the night. ”It was incredible to see so many people here tonight, what an amazing atmosphere for this event.”
The event was capped off with one lucky fan winning his season ticket for free for the season, another winning a VIP suite for opening night this season and the big winner on the night taking home a package to the 2014 Playoff Weekend including flights, hotels and tickets for the weekend.
Overall an incredible night for the Giants and for their fans.
