Adey Expects Tough Games In Hull And Sheffield This Weekend

The Stena Line Belfast Giants will embark on a streak of eight straight games on the road starting this weekend against the Hull Stingrays and Sheffield Steelers and culminating on Tuesday 3rd December in Nottingham before a long-awaited return to the Odyssey Arena on 7th December against the Edinburgh Capitals.

This week in practice, Head Coach Paul Adey has been preparing his team for two important games on the road this weekend,

“These are obviously two tough games and Hull are tricky at home and we know that Sheffield are always dominant in their rink. We have two tough games ahead of us but we’re working on a few things in practice to get us ready for those games. Unfortunately we have a couple of guys who are a little bit sick, but they will be ok and will be back on the ice tomorrow (Thursday).”

Paul Adey will go into this weekends’ games with a full line-up following the return of Adam Keefe and Jeffrey Szwez on Sunday following suspension:

“We’ve struggled with our suspensions and injuries but we’ve come out of it pretty good and we have everyone back in the lineup and it gives the guys some competition for their spots. In general it gives us some depth and having the extra guys is a bonus for us.”

With eight away games in-a-row, when asked what his target is for those games, Paul Adey had this to say:

“Obviously we want to do as well as we can. I know the guys want to do well and we want to continue to perform at the level we have been performing at and if we do that we’ll get our fair share of points on the road.”
