Adam Jones – Player profile
At the start of the 2016/17 season, we sat down with Adam Jones and discussed his life in – and out – of ice hockey for our match night programme. This is what he had to say…
What has been the high point of your career so far?
Coming here. It’s been a big move to come back to where I started.
What has been the low point of your career so far?
A couple of years ago, I was at some BCHL tryouts in Canada and played exhibition games. I was one of the last guys to be cut, which was a definite low point for me.
Why did you become a professional ice hockey player?
Obviously when a kid starts playing and he loves it, that is something he dreams about. I had planned on going to college this year, until Tom contacted me. From there, it was a very easy decision for me.
Who’s your favourite Telford Tigers team-mate?
Too tough to say!
If you weren’t an ice hockey player, what would you do?
I literally have no idea. (Danny Rose suggests astronaut).
What’s your favourite food?
Mint chocolate chip ice cream.
What’s your favourite drink?
A beer or a Fanta.
What’s your dream car?
I don’t really have a dream car. Touring on a big motorbike would be cool, though!
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
I went to Spain near Malaga last spring and that was nice. I went with my family and a couple of friends. It was nice because it had lovely warm beaches and sunny weather!
Why did you start playing ice hockey?
I visited Canada with my family and watched a game, then me and my brother fell in love with it. We came back here and were living in Birmingham at the time. We both started playing here, and wanted to keep on doing it.
