Aaron’s Back for More

We are delighted to announce the second of this weekend’s returnees. Aaron Davies will be pulling on the Hawks jersey for his 17th season with the club.

After spending a year playing for Manchester Phoenix in 2003 he signed for Blackburn Hawks where, apart from 6 matches for Deeside Dragons, he has remained ever since.

As well as the 2013 playoff champions medal, and the ‘double-double’ league and playoff champions titles in 2015 and 2016, Aaron’s impressive goal tally over his Hawks career has earned him the record of top all-round goal scorer for the Blackburn Hawks with his total currently at 266 goals over 473 games (and 237 assists) and set to rise this season.

Like Ollie, Aaron isn’t afraid of rolling his sleeves up and getting involved with the Blackburn juniors system, community events and PR interviews, taking part in both Rob Craig Memorial charity matches.

Last season:

League
Games: 34
Goals: 10
Assists: 8

Cup
Games: 10
Goals: 3
Assists: 3

James Neil comments:
“I’m pleased to have Aaron re-signing again for next year.  His commitment on and off the ice is a credit to the club and I’m happy for it to continue.  Aaron is someone who can consistently put the puck in the back of the net and has done it throughout his career.  His involvement with the junior set up in Blackburn and throughout the club is vital, and the more people like Aaron, the better!”

Aaron, on his delight at returning for another season:
I’m not done yet!  I’m looking forward to the new change ahead.  Nidz is a coach I enjoy working for, and really have liked how he’s brought on the kids – Ronnie, Harrison and Jack.  He brings new ideas and it’s good to be part of. I know I’m getting old but hope my experience and love of the club will be helpful, so here’s to another season and hopefully a few more goals!”

Own and Loan shirt information will be released in due course.
