A View From The Bridge Talk To Giants Legend Karlander

This week’s ‘A View From The Bridge’ podcast includes a interview with Giants legend Kory Karlander along with discussions on all the latest goings on in the Elite League thanks to Patrick Smyth, Davy McGimpsey and Neil Russell. Karlander played two seasons in the teal, red and white jersey of the Giants during the organisations first ever season in 2000/01 and in 2002/03. Kory currently sits in 17th position in the Belfast Giants All-Time leading scorers charts having scored 120 points in 121 games played during those two seasons.

Speaking with Neil Russell, Kory Karlander spoke of his fond memories of playing for the Giants all those years ago including the first ever home game for the Belfast organisation:

“It was like no other opening night like any i’ve ever experienced! We, as players, knew of all the obstacles the organisation had to overcome before opening night and I knew how tough things were for the ownership to get up and running especially for a city with a ‘non-hockey’ history. After all of the excitement and anxiousness, the hype for the opening night was all that is was built up to be and the night was indescribable.”

Fans can listen to the full podcast to hear the full interview with Kory Karlander as he talks about how he became an original Giant, his thoughts on winning the organisation’s Playoff Championship and many more Giants memories.
