2016-17 ROSTER: Brit hot-shot Hook to stay with ambitious Lightning

The Smith Recycling-backed Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to announce the return of Lewis Hook on a two-year contract.

At just 19 years of age, Lewis is already hot property in the British game.  He is a product of the Peterborough youth system, his talents coming to wider attention during his first two EPL seasons, with the Peterborough Phantoms.

He signed for the Lightning in the summer of 2014 and in his first season in MK colours became the team’s top goal Lewis Hookand point scoring British player.

Lewis has also amassed significant experience at international junior level, captaining the Great Britain U18 team and Alternate Captain last season at U20 level. That tournament saw him scoop the accolade for GB’s Player of the Tournament.

His speed and undoubted skill have made him one of the most in-demand young players in in the EPL – but Lewis says he is happy to pledge his immediate future to Milton Keynes Lightning.

“I’ve had some interesting offers but Milton Keynes is where I want to stay, to continue to develop. This is a club that’s going places and next year’s move to the Elite League shows the ambition that’s here. Pete has shown faith in me with the offer to stay so obviously I intend to repay that, for him and all our supporters.

“Everyone says how Lightning has the best supporters in the league so I hope they’ll be happy I’m staying. With the team that Pete’s putting together I’m pretty sure they’ll have a lot to cheer about next season!”

HOOK sideHead Coach Pete Russell spoke of the importance of Lewis Hook’s signing: “I am delighted Lewis has decided to commit to the Lightning for the next two years.  He’s a top end player and a big player for our club and for our future. He has great speed, a good skill set and plays at both ends on the rink.

“Lewis is a very driven young man who wants to go as far as he can in a sport he loves. We want to give his the platform and support to achieve his true potential. It’s a huge testament to our club and its great supporters that Lewis has chosen to commit to the Lightning longer term.

“For me, this is a huge signing for Lightning and I can’t wait to work with Lewis again.”

Lewis Hook’s jerseys are immediately available for sponsorship at £200 each for light or dark jerseys and £125 for warm up.  The name of the sponsor will be displayed on the back of each jersey, included on our website and match programme and announced at the start of every game where it is worn – then it’s presented to its owner at the end of the season. To sponsor, email dave@b2promodesign.com.
