2 more return on the Blue line for Fire

Last season’s young player of the year Elis Sheppard and experienced Andrew Davies return for another season with champions Fire.

Elis joined the Fire in our first season from Slough Jets the 19-year-old Welsh youngster started his hockey career in Cardiff then moved to Slough in 2012. During his time in Slough Elis played under 16’s under18’s and NIHL. Also returning for another season is Andrew Davies, Andrew came through the junior system in Cardiff and made his return during Fire’s first season. Andrew is a stay at home defenceman that’s calm on the puck and very reliable he enjoyed a fantastic first season back with the club.

Mark Cuddihy added “Having these guys back is a huge boast for us, Elis won the young player of year award for the Fire last season, he’s a big lad, aggressive and made big improvements as the season went on. I’m looking forward to watching him develop and take his game to the next level this season. In Spud (Andrew Davies) we have an experienced head and a fierce competitor. I had watched Spud through the summer and knew we were getting a good player, I was surprised at how well he adapted to the league so quickly and he became one of our most reliable players”
