1 in and 1 out for the Raiders

The London Raiders can now confirm that by mutual agreement Jacob Ranson is to leave the club.
We would like to thank Jacob for his efforts this season, both on ice and off ice with regular Twitter updates and news reporting.
We part on good terms and wish Jacob every success in the future.

We can also announce the formal signing of Callum Burnett who has just turned 16. Many happy returns Callum and welcome also to the Gold and Blue.
Burnett, a resident of Stapleford Abbots and a pupil at Campion School for whom he also plays rugby, caught the hockey bug as many of us did at Rom Valley Way He was of course a member of the junior set up there when the rink was forced to close.
He moved to the Slough hockey system and under the tutelage of Ben Pitchley and others in the Slough system progressed playing up to “under 18″ teams. Whilst at Slough he also captained them to 2 National finals. In 58 games in the Slough Junior set up, the defenseman has accumulated 30 points.
Last month he featured in the GB under 16 team that won the international tournament in Dumfries. Last year he also captained the England Under-15 team to a bronze medal in an international tournament in Germany.
Callum has also featured in the South East regional team since 2013 when he played in the under 13’s team and has been selected for the region every year since. In regional and GB competition he has already racked up 23 appearances and we suspect will add to this over the coming years.
He is already a familiar face at the Raiders this year having been recommended by Ben Pitchley during the summer as suitable to the step up to NIHL1 and progress into the new Romford rink. He has trained with the Raiders most of the season and has not looked at all out of place. He has also assisted on the bench in the majority of the home and away games and already feels a part of the team.
Welcome aboard Callum. We hope you enjoy the ride!
We are indebted to the sponsors of his home and warm up jersey who have already stepped forward and booked these. Many thanks. The away shirt is already in discussion but anyone wanting the first senior team shirt of this up and developing talent may well need to act quickly.
